Portraits

A frontal portrait is a picture of a person’s face so that the person looks straight out from the paper at you. This may look hard, but it’s really pretty easy. You only have to draw a few shapes, which you already know. The hardest thing is remembering where to put all the parts of the face. Of course, you always have your own face as a reminder...

In drawing portraits, you learn a lot about how your face is put together.

All you’ll need for this is a sheet of paper, a pencil and an eraser. Follow the steps, rememberring that you can pause if it goes too fast and rewind if you need to see something again. Remember to draw lightly with the pencil -- do not press hard when you draw -- so that you can erase mistakes and the guidelines. Okay? Got what you need? Start the video.
